The Tour de France of my travels

The Tour de France of my travels

Reflection of the beginning of the year: trips to France. Like many of you, the majority of my travels take place abroad. The price of plane tickets being in sharp decline and the cheaper life of some countries push us to flee France to almost forget that France is the most touristiccountry in the world. However, no matter where you are in France, there is necessarily the ideal place to spend a weekend or a week that is not far from you. This article is therefore dedicated to the places in France that have marked me the most.

 Center-West: The Loire Valley,

Nantes The tour of the Loire Valley, there are many years me a lot. Indeed it is a region that I regularly recommend when someone asks me for a nice place to spend a weekend or a week in France. This region is particularly known for its very many castles, the châteaux of the Loire, such as the castles of Chenonceaux, Chambord, Cheverny, or even Azay-le-Rideau to name only the most famous. In addition to visiting the castles of the Loire, you can continue your way to the amusement park, Futuroscope. Let's stay in the same region, let's head not far from there, to Nantes. Nantes is a city that I really appreciated. It is a city rich in things to do, I also devoted an article to it during my last visit to this city.

Let's go slightly further south to discover the Puy du Fou, voted on several occasions, the best park in the world. South of France, its coasts, and its cities let's start our discovery of the South of France by the western part. Bordeaux and in particular Lacanau-Océan, a city where I have, on several occasions, spent summers and even took surf lessons. The Landes region is a magnificent region, between pine forests and immense beaches far from the crowds of the Côte d'Azur. The waves of the ocean also give rise to some of the most famous surfing competitions in the world, such as in Hossegor.

After the Atlantic coast, let's move away from the coast to arrive in Toulouse, nicknamed the pink city. I will soon write an article on this city that I had the chance to visit a few years ago. Let's take the direction of the Mediterranean coasts. This region, taken by summer vacationers by storm, will certainly offer you beautiful beaches and above all lots of sun and mild temperatures, but also very beautiful towns to discover. Montpellier, for example, is a city that I have visited several times and which I find really pleasant. The cities of the Côte d'Azur are also cities that you have to visit at least once, depending on the month. Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Saint-Tropez or even Grasse are essential passages of a stay in the south of France. Let's leave the south of France by the city of Lyon, this city is, with Nantes and Bordeaux, the ones that attracted me the most. Lyon offers many advantages such as its climate, its proximity to the mountains, and a pleasant city with magnificent districts such as old Lyon or Fourvière.

Paris, the essential

Paris is of course the essential number 1 for a stay inFrance. There are many places to see in Paris, I also devoted an article to the essentials of a stay in Paris recently. The emblematic places of Paris are no longer present. In addition to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Notre-Dame or the Sacré-Coeur, Paris has many museums, such as the Musée d'Orsay but also unique places such as the catacombs that I do not know. Never had the chance to visit.

During my last stay in Paris, we rented an apartment hotel ideally located in the 6th arrondissement thanks to the house trip website that I recommend.

The North of France, an often forgotten region, however...

The North of France is undoubtedly the region that I know the most, quite simply because I live there. I am devoting an article to it to present it to you. It is not a very touristy region yet there are many things to do and see there. You can, of course, visit Lille, the largest city in the region, but also its beaches, among the most beautiful in France, or its many memorials from the First World War.

Corsica

I had the chance this year (2019) to visit Corsica for a two-week stay. Corsica has really not stolen its nickname of the island of beauty as the landscapes and places to discover are magnificent. Beaches, cove but also towns and villages make up the beauty and reputation of Corsica. I am not talking to you about the East of France, which I know very little about, apart from a stay in Strasbourg a few years ago, it is a region that I must discover more in-depth.
