The reopening of schools and daycare centers is going well
Children and young people have returned to schools and daycare institutions, where a great deal of preparatory work has been done. The mayor of Vejle praises the effort after the visit.
Around Vejle Municipality's schools and daycare institutions, managers, technical service staff, educators, teachers, and many others have made a huge effort over Easter, to be ready to be able to receive children and young people again.
On April 20, the crèches again welcomed small children and the schools' 4 -5. class is also back at the same time, so teaching and children's play have returned to schools and daycare institutions. 66 percent of all children in daycare and 93 percent of all school children are back at the run- down schools and daycare institutions, and thus the reopening seems to go according to plan.
At the individual schools and daycare institutions, there is a good local dialogue about when it is medically justifiable to show up and several caredaycarecenters and schools have, for example, rented washbasins, toilets, and other things to live up to the guidelines.
The community at a distance
Mayor Jens Ejner Christensen visited Grejsdal School and Børnehuset by Banen on 21 April. Here, the mayor saw, among other things, how Grejsdal School has included the scout cabin Nedre Spejderbakke to live up to the guidelines for a healthy and safe school in a time of corona.
- What I have seen is that in the individual schools and institutions, really good solutions have been found for how children and students can be taught and activated so that even if the distance is maintained, you still feel the close community, says Jens Ejner Christensen.
The mayor also noted how clear it is that children are happy to see the other children and adults again - even though they still have to do their best to keep their distance.
- It is important that we manage to utilize all the space we have available. Space is an important factor for us to continue to live up to the health professional guidelines, says the mayor.
Playgrounds are washed every day
Part of Vejle Municipality's guidelines for a healthsoundly school is that playgrounds and toys must be washed daily.
It is a big task, and therefore extra manpower has been arranged to be able to handle this task. Among other things, employees from Materielgården are involved in this work and temporary employment has been made among the unemployed from the Jobcentre.
At the same time, the regular cleaning of schools and daycare institutions has been stepped up.
